The Knights of Columbus is a global Catholic fraternal service organization.
The organization was founded in 1882 by Blesssed Father Michael J. McGivney for Catholics in the United States and has grown to support refugee relief, Catholic education, local parishes, dioceses, and global Catholic causes.
As of 2021, there are over 1.8 million members around the world, comprised of Catholic men aged 18 or older. There are more than 16,000 local Knights of Columbus councils around the world, including over 300 on college campuses.

The Ridgetown Knights of Columbus offers a bursary to assist members of the St. Michael's Parish pursuing a post-secondary education.
Rules and Conditions:
A) ELIGIBILITY
1) CANDIDATES ELIGIBLE FOR A KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS BURSARY ARE:
i) a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 8435 OR
ii) a wife, son or daughter of a member in good standing OR
iii) wife, son, daughter of a deceased member in good standing at time of his death OR
iv) a registered member of the St Michael's Parish
2) CANDIDATES MUST HAVE APPLIED FOR ADDMISSION INTO A FULL-TIME PROGRAM
AT A UNIVERSITY OR COLLEGE IN ONTARIO
B) APPILICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The final date for filing an appllcation shall be June 17, 2022
2) An appllcation must include the following items::
*An autobiography statement containing a description of the applicant's educational objectives and his/her involvement in parish/council/community/school (One (1) typed page maximum)
* a letter of recommendation from the Principal of the secondary school
* a Clergy reference
C) Note
1) The decision of the Bursary Committee is final. Successful candidates will be notified on or before June 30, 2022
2) A cheque, representing the amount of the bursary will be presented to the successful candidate at a regular mass if available.
3) Incomplete applications will not be considered by the Bursary Committee.
- One Bursary of $500 for a student.
